SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT

Main Achievements

Our main achievements for the year 2021/22 were:

  • The embedding of our Learning and Teaching cycle and a sharing practice approach among teachers to develop ideas and practice around planning, assessment, pupil support and learning and teaching strategies. We have embedded our use of new planning documents to ensure pupils can make sustained progress in Literacy and Maths.

  • The development of our Health and Wellbeing and support provision through the training of staff in Nurture, Lego Play/Therapy and Seasons for Growth; the continued focus on GIRFEC Wellbeing indicators in class and as a focus of our End of Year Reflection Events for parents; and the increase in the number of pupils identified as requiring Child’s Plans. We also achieved Argyll and Bute’s Sports Silver Award.

  • The development of our Outdoor Learning provision, including the purchase of additional resources and the promotion and timetabling of the use of outdoor spaces so that it has become an integral part of learning and teaching in the school with the regular use of the school grounds.
